The charcoal metadataset consists of data relating to 136 sites, and was provided by Scott Mooney (University of New South Wales). This file also contains charcoal data, including counts and analytical techniques, in separate worksheets.

The distribution of sites at which charcoal studies have been undertaken is shown on the map below. Numbers shown beside the site markers correspond to their respective site identification codes. Enlarged insets for regions with high densities of sites are included.
