This prize is to support a student currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea or Fiji in the field of Quaternary studies, to attend an international conference at which they will present results of their research. An international conference held in Australia or New Zealand also qualifies for the award. The intention is that attendance at the conference and the presentation should enhance the student's career and Quaternary studies in Australasia. The successful applicant must submit a report on the conference for publication in the AQUA's journal, Quaternary Australasia . The recipient must be a member of AQUA.

The value of the award is A$1000. *Support in 2007 will be 4 prizes of $500*

Selection
Awards will be competitive and selection will be made by the office bearers of AQUA. The research to be presented must fall within the boundaries of Quaternary studies. Where the opportunity for oral presentation exists this will be the expected form of presentation. An individual may only be awarded the prize once. The principal consideration for selection will be excellence of the research. Secondary considerations will be the availability of alternative sources of funding, previous attendance at an international conference and the likely completion date of your degree. AQUA reserves the right not to make an award in any year.
Deadline
Applications will be accepted up until March 31st of the year for conferences
held up to March of the following year.
